Physio EC2

Mike Squirrell Physiotherapy is launching it’s brand new London Physio clinic in EC2 in November.

With the Harley Street Physiotherapy clinic at almost full capacity Mike took on another experienced physiotherapist who could allow the clinic to grow and accept even more new patients. The W1 Physiotherapy clinic has always been very successful, it’s located just off of Harley Street and offers excellent physiotherapy care.

Physio in the City of London

The next obvious location was the City or EC2 area of London. Because many of our patients are London City workers it made sense to open a clinic in that area that would offer a convenient location for EC2 Physiotherapy treatment.

James Corden Cortisone Injection

james corden cortisone injection londonThe comic actor is waiting to undergo surgery on damaged cartilage in his right knee, which has made his rehearsals for tomorrow night’s show a painful slog.

Before hosting last year’s bash, he suffered a scratched cornea which left him with blurred vision as he took to the stage.

But James has vowed to battle through the pain tomorrow with the help of some heavy-duty cortisone injections.

Speaking on my Xfm radio show yesterday, he said: “My knee is killing me. I’m waiting for an operation but there’s nothing I can do until I’ve finished my run of One Man, Two Guvnors at The Strand.

“I’ve been getting injections and I’ll have to make sure I don’t do any more damage on the night.”

Cortisone Injections London

Cortisone is a substance very similar to a steroid which is naturally produced by the body.

An injection of extra cortisone increases the body’s ability to reduce pain, heat, redness and swelling of the joints and even repair itself.

Many athletes have used cortisone to speed up their recovery and at Mike Squirrell Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic in London W1 we can provide cortisone injections at our clinic near Harley Street

What is Cortisone?

Cortisone is a steroid hormone. It is one of the main hormones released by the adrenal gland in response to stress. In chemical structure, it is a corticosteroid closely related to corticosterone. It is used to treat a variety of ailments and can be administered intravenously, orally, intraarticularly, or transcutaneously. Cortisone suppresses the immune system, thus reducing inflammation and attendant pain and swelling at the site of the injury. Risks exist, in particular in the long-term use of cortisone.

Pilates utilises specifically designed exercise apparatus and is supervised by highly trained teachers. It was initially created for rehabilitation, but was later adopted by dancers and athletes and is now utilized by millions. The primary focus is on awareness of the spine, proper breathing, core strength and flexibility.

Benefits of Cortisone

Cortisone, a glucocorticoid, and adrenaline are the main hormones released by the body as a reaction to stress. They elevate blood pressure and prepare the body for a fight or flight response.

A cortisone injection can also be used to give short-term pain relief and reduce the swelling from inflammation of a joint, tendon, or bursa in, for example, the joints of the knee, elbow, and shoulder.
